Day 13

A shout out to canine and hippie detectives everywhere.  Scooby Doo was the perfect blend of teenage misfits (the original hipsters), horror (mummies! bats! madmen in deep sea diving gear!), humor (the show had a laugh track, people), 70’s celebrities (Harlem Globetrotters, heyah! Don Knotts and Tim Conway, what up?) and bad animation.  I still watch it with my kids today (the original stuff, not the new stuff).  Poor Velma was such a fifth wheel, yet she was the one doing all the work.  Of the whole bunch, she was the only one who stood a chance of growing up to become a professional detective.  Above is my ironic spin on the whole “meddling kids unmasking the villain” schtick. Enjoy.
